This compressor is specifically for 2003-2005 Honda Civic models with the 1.3L hybrid engine. Standard gasoline engine models require a different compressor. Contact us to verify compatibility with your VIN.
Common failure points include worn internal bearings, clutch coil burnout, and refrigerant leaks from aging seals. The hybrid system’s unique electrical demands can also stress the compressor clutch over time.
It’s recommended to replace the receiver/drier and expansion valve when installing a used compressor. The system should also be flushed to remove any contamination from the failed unit.
Signs include no cold air, grinding or squealing noises when A/C is on, compressor clutch not engaging, or visible refrigerant leaks around the compressor. A professional diagnosis can confirm compressor failure.
This compressor has been tested and inspected, but you’ll need to add the correct amount of PAG oil and evacuate/recharge the system during installation. Professional installation is recommended for hybrid vehicles.
You’ll receive the complete compressor assembly with clutch and pulley. Refrigerant, oil, and installation hardware are not included and must be purchased separately.
