603 Auto Salvage – Customer Yard Policy, Safety, and Conduct Rules
At 603 Auto Salvage, we take pride in maintaining a safe, organized, and environmentally responsible operation. To protect our customers, employees, and property, we require every visitor to understand and follow the policies below.
By entering our yard, conducting business, or participating in any activities on-site, you agree to comply with all rules and procedures described in this policy.
1. Entry and Access Policy
1.1 Authorized Entry Only
Access to the yard is restricted to customers, vendors, or visitors who have signed in at the front office. All visitors must have a legitimate business reason for entering the property.
1.2 Check-In Procedure
Upon arrival, all visitors must:
- Present a valid photo ID
- Sign in and state the purpose of the visit
- Receive any required safety gear (if applicable)
- Follow staff directions at all times
1.3 Age Restrictions
No person under the age of 18 is permitted beyond the customer waiting area. Children must remain inside vehicles or designated safe zones under adult supervision at all times.
1.4 Accompaniment and Guidance
Customers are not allowed to walk unescorted in active work zones. A 603 Auto Salvage employee will assist in locating, inspecting, or loading parts or vehicles as needed.
1.5 Hours of Operation
Entry is only allowed during official business hours M-F 8am-4:30pm Sat 8am-2pm. After-hours visits or drop-offs are not permitted without written authorization from management.
2. Safety and Personal Conduct
2.1 Footwear and Clothing
Closed-toe, sturdy shoes or work boots are required. Flip-flops, sandals, or barefoot access is strictly prohibited. Long pants and gloves are recommended.
2.2 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Depending on the activity, visitors may be required to wear gloves, eye protection, reflective vests, or hard hats. PPE must be worn as directed by staff.
2.3 Prohibited Items and Behaviors
- Smoking, vaping, or open flames are not allowed anywhere on the premises.
- Alcohol, drugs, or weapons of any kind are forbidden.
- No horseplay, running, shouting, or reckless behavior.
- Climbing on vehicles, racks, or equipment is not allowed.
- Photography or video recording requires prior written consent from management.
2.4 Language and Conduct
We expect professionalism and respect at all times. Foul language, harassment, discrimination, or intimidation toward staff or other customers will result in immediate removal from the premises.
2.5 Personal Safety
Visitors must remain alert at all times. The yard contains uneven ground, debris, and moving machinery. Stay within designated walking paths and maintain a safe distance from heavy equipment.
2.6 Emergency Response
In the event of an emergency:
- Follow staff instructions immediately.
- Do not attempt to leave the property unless directed.
- Report all injuries or hazards to the office at once.
Emergency kits, eyewash stations, and fire extinguishers are located throughout the facility.
3. Vehicle, Parking, and Equipment Rules
3.1 Parking
Customers must park only in designated customer parking areas. Blocking access roads, gates, or equipment zones is prohibited.
3.2 Vehicle Drop-Offs
All vehicle drop-offs for sale or recycling must occur in designated intake zones. Engines should be turned off, parking brakes engaged, and keys surrendered upon request.
3.3 Loading and Equipment Use
Only trained and authorized employees may operate forklifts, loaders, cranes, or tow trucks. Customers must remain at a safe distance during loading or unloading.
3.4 Personal Vehicle Restrictions
Personal vehicles are not permitted in the active yard area unless specifically authorized by management for loading purposes.
3.5 Speed Limit
The maximum speed within the yard is 5 mph. Caution is required at all times due to pedestrians and moving equipment.
4. Liability, Insurance, and Risk Acknowledgment
4.1 Assumption of Risk
All visitors acknowledge that an auto salvage yard involves inherent risks including sharp metal, fluids, machinery, and uneven terrain. Entry constitutes acceptance of these risks.
4.2 Waiver of Liability
All visitors must sign a Liability Waiver Form before entering work areas. 603 Auto Salvage is not responsible for injuries, accidents, or property damage occurring on-site.
4.3 Insurance Coverage
Commercial customers, vendors, and transporters must carry adequate insurance coverage (including general liability and workers’ compensation) when performing any activity on our premises. Proof may be required before entry.
4.4 Property Responsibility
603 Auto Salvage is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property. Keep valuables in your vehicle or secured in the office.
4.5 Damage Caused by Visitors
Any damage to vehicles, equipment, or company property caused by negligence or failure to follow instructions will be billed to the responsible party.
5. Business Transactions and Customer Service
5.1 Part Inspections
Customers must inspect all parts before purchase. Verify condition, compatibility, and fitment prior to leaving the premises.
5.2 Return Policy
Returns are accepted only under the conditions listed on the sales receipt. No returns are allowed on electrical components, special orders, or damaged items after sale.
5.3 Warranties
Warranty eligibility is determined at the time of sale. Customers must retain receipts for all warranty claims. Improper installation or modification voids any warranty.
5.4 Pricing and Payments
All prices are final unless otherwise stated. Payment is due at the time of purchase. We accept major credit cards, cash, and approved business checks.
5.5 Pickup and Loading Assistance
Customers must follow staff instructions during part or vehicle loading. Only trained employees may operate loading equipment. Customers may not assist with heavy lifting or machinery.
5.6 Customer Communication
We value clear communication and respect. Customers with questions or disputes regarding pricing, condition, or service should request to speak directly with a manager.
5.7 Refusal of Service
603 Auto Salvage reserves the right to refuse service to any person who does not follow policy guidelines or behaves in an unsafe or disrespectful manner.
6. Environmental and Compliance Regulations
6.1 Fluid Management
Only authorized employees may handle fluids such as oil, coolant, transmission fluid, or refrigerants. Dumping or draining fluids is strictly prohibited.
6.2 Hazardous Waste Policy
No disposal of hazardous materials, household waste, or non-automotive items is allowed. Violators will be held financially and legally responsible for cleanup and reporting.
6.3 Recycling Commitment
We recycle metal, glass, plastic, batteries, and other materials according to environmental standards. Customers are encouraged to follow all posted recycling and waste guidelines.
6.4 EPA and State Compliance
603 Auto Salvage complies with all EPA, DES, and local environmental regulations. Violations by visitors may result in fines and denial of future access.
7. Vendors, Contractors, and Deliveries
7.1 Check-In Required
All vendors and contractors must check in at the office before unloading, loading, or servicing equipment.
7.2 Safety Training
Outside contractors must follow all on-site safety rules and provide proof of OSHA training upon request.
7.3 Vendor Conduct
Third-party service providers are expected to maintain professional conduct and adhere to environmental and safety standards identical to employees.
8. Dispute Resolution and Enforcement
8.1 On-Site Resolution
All disputes should be directed to a manager before leaving the property. We aim to resolve all issues quickly and respectfully.
8.2 Incident Reporting
Any injury, property damage, or safety concern must be reported immediately to management.
8.3 Right to Remove Individuals
Management reserves the right to remove any visitor or contractor who violates safety rules, behaves disruptively, or refuses to comply with staff instructions.
8.4 Banned Entry
Individuals repeatedly violating policy or posing a risk to safety may be permanently banned from the property.
9. Emergency Procedures
9.1 First Aid and Medical Assistance
First aid kits are available in the office. In serious cases, staff will contact emergency services immediately.
9.2 Fire Safety
If a fire occurs, alert staff and evacuate to designated safe zones. Do not attempt to move vehicles or equipment unless instructed.
9.3 Evacuation Protocol
Follow employee directions and proceed calmly to the nearest exit or assembly point during any evacuation.
10. Final Agreement
By entering 603 Auto Salvage property or engaging in any business here, you confirm that you:
- Have read and understood all policies listed above.
- Acknowledge the risks associated with entering an active recycling and salvage facility.
- Agree to comply with all instructions from staff and management.
- Accept full responsibility for your safety and conduct while on-site.
Failure to comply with these policies may result in removal from the property, denial of service, or further action as necessary.
