How do you grade part quality?

At 603 Auto Salvage, we follow the same industry-standard grading system used by professional recyclers across the country. Each part we sell is inspected and assigned a quality grade based on its condition, age, and mileage. This grading process helps customers understand exactly what they’re getting and ensures consistency across our inventory.

Mechanical parts like engines, transmissions, and alternators are graded primarily by performance and mileage. Body parts are graded by appearance, rust level, and structural condition. Electrical parts are graded by functional testing results.

An A-grade part is in excellent condition with minimal wear. It’s typically from a low-mileage vehicle or one that was damaged in an area unrelated to the part being sold. B-grade parts show normal wear but remain fully functional and reliable. C-grade parts may have cosmetic flaws or higher mileage but still meet operational standards. Anything below that is recycled rather than sold.
